Becoming a Nonprofit 

To fund further support of app development and updates, funding will be required. To fit the needs of the community and align with the mission of the group, applying for Nonprofit status will allow further development to be supported financially through grants and donations.  To become a nonprofit organization, we would follow the process outlined by Grantspace, which is to develop Needs Analysis, draft an effective Mission Statement, write a business plan, establish a Board of Directors, and file for 501(c)(3) Tax-Exempt Status. We could also need to prepare for ongoing compliance, which would follow State and Local rule and regulations [5].
